I didn't even notice the smell. Renan Problem impressed by knocking out Stuart Austin with a right hand bomb in 31 seconds, in a fight that closed the preliminary card of PFL #8 this Thursday (19). Thus, the Brazilian enters as a 'reserve fighter' in case there is any unforeseen event between the semi-finalists of the heavyweight tournament (up to 120,2kg). The event took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, in the United States.

At 31 years old, Problema was involved in a problem at the beginning of the competition, when he faced Fabricio Werdum, with a fight without result – which practically took away his chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the heavyweight tournament (up to 120,2kg.). Still, he scored two other devastating victories and now has a record of eight triumphs and two setbacks.

Austin, on the other hand, fails to make a good debut in the organization and suffers his eighth career defeat. At 33, the Englishman has a record of 15 positive results and eight negative results in his career in MMA.

Marina Mokhnatkina's debut in the PFL could have been better. Former Sambô champion and one of the promises in the lightweight category (up to 70,3kg), the Russian had a warm duel against Claudia Zamora in the third fight of the night. Still, the fighter emerged victorious in the judges' unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Having worked for Bellator, Marina debuts on the right foot in her new organization. An MMA professional since 2016, she has a record of six positive results and two negative results in her career.

Multi-time champion in jiu-jitsu, Amanda Leve didn't have an easy time making her debut in mixed martial arts. After being disadvantaged in her striking, the American decided to 'go back to her roots', taking down and submitting Miranda Barber with a rear naked choke in the first round. The fight was valid in the women's lightweight category (up to 70,3kg).

With two fights in amateur MMA, Leve achieved his first victory as a professional after a good career in the 'gentle art'. In a post-fight interview, she states that she enjoyed the experience and says she is 'hungry' to build her career in the organization.

On the other hand, Miranda Barber suffers her second defeat and now has an uncomfortable negative record (2-1). She was knocked out in her penultimate fight, against Laura Sanchez, in January 2020.
