"Jon Jones, who is a very eclectic and very intelligent guy. O Dan Henderson, which is very hard, hits too hard. To close 'Minotouro', who is also eclectic, good at boxing, I fought three wars with him”, stated the former champion.

In addition to talking about the opponents who gave him the most trouble, Shogun also revealed the three most memorable fights of his career.

“Every victory of mine was important to reach the title, which was always my goal, but of course if I were to choose three, the two for the belt, with (Ricardo) Arona and Lyoto (Machida). You got me the other one (laughs). So I'm going to choose mine with Chuck Liddell, who opened my doors in the UFC and people started to look at me differently in the UFC too. Nor would I point to a rivalry (as an important factor). It was because of achieving my big dream. I had a dream of being a Pride champion, which was very bold at that time, and after I went to the UFC, I had a dream of being a champion there too. Thank God I achieved my two biggest dreams. Rivalry is motivational for training, but if I had to point out one factor, it would be the dream I fulfilled”, analyzed the Curitiba native.

Close to turning 40, Mauritius Shogun has a record of 27 wins, 12 losses and one draw. The former champion, who still has no plans for his next fight, has not entered the octagon since November 2020, when he was knocked out by Paul Craig No. UFC 255.
