Still excited about the success of the Featherweight Grand Prix (up to 65,7kg), Scott Coker is already planning the next step for his organization. In an interview with the North American website 'MMA Junkie', the president of Bellator stated that he wants to organize a new tournament, this time in bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.). He even made a point of valuing the division's athletes to justify his possible choice.

“I know sooner or later people are going to talk about the bantamweight tournament and I think it's becoming more and more likely that we'll do that. We have some great fighters and, next year, maybe it will be the division so we can promote the Grand Prix”, revealed Coker.
The division currently has Sergio Pettis – brother of the PFL athlete, Anthony Pettis – as champion. He dominated and beat Juan Archuleta in a unanimous decision by the judges, in a fight that took place in issue number 258, on May 7th.
If the tournament is confirmed, names like Juan Archuleta, Raufeon Stots, Patchy mix, Magomed Magomedov, Leandro Higo, James Gallagher, Josh Hill and Jornel Lugo can compete for the US$1 million prize (approximately R$5,2 million), awarded to the winner of the competition.
