Despite the imminent rise in Jon Jones for the heavyweights (up to 120,2 kg) and the failure in his last adventure in the light heavyweights (up to 93 kg), Israel adesanya he did not cross off a possible super fight against Jones in the future from his list of goals.

During his participation in the program The MMA Hour, with Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani, Adesanya guaranteed that the doors for the super fight remain open.
“The story has not yet been told, Ariel. The story is still there”, said the middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg).

Adesanya, however, does not believe that the former light heavyweight champion will even debut in the heavyweight division.
“I don't think we'll ever see Jon Jones fight at heavyweight. F***, he’s been saying that since 2013. Either you go up, or you don’t”, said the champion.
Undefeated in the middleweight division, with 10 victories and three title defenses, the Nigerian had his own adventure in March this year, when he tried to win the light heavyweight belt, but ended up defeated by the champion Jan Blachowicz. Adesanya doesn't regret trying it, but he doesn't advise Jones to do the same.
“In my case, I moved up the division without even three years in the organization. The guys up there respect me, even the champion recognized it. So I don't think it's something that just anyone can do. I think he (Jon Jones) is getting fat for nothing at the moment”, concluded Adesanya.
