Willing to regain his position as flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg.), Deiveson Figueiredo remains firm in the search for an immediate rematch with his last tormentor, Brandon Moreno. Defeated by the Mexican in June, the man from Pará criticized the stance of the group leader, who does not guarantee the Tupiniquim a chance to regain their old title.

“I expected more from him, that he would act like a man. What I want most is the trilogy, to face him again. I hope he has the courage to give me that rematch”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.

Division champion in 2020, Deiveson justifies his insistence based on his performance in the first meeting with the Mexican. For the Tupiniquim, who claims to have faced his sick rival in December last season, a third meeting is mandatory to end the dispute between the two.

“He is a coward, because I was sick when I faced him (in 2020) and defeated him. I gave him an immediate rematch. I won that fight. They took a point away from me. He pretended to be hurt, he pretended to get poked in the eye, but I still won. Now, he doesn't want to give me a rematch? He’s a coward,” fired Figueiredo.

Finally, the 'God of War' made it clear that the location for a possible trilogy does not matter. The Brazilian even showed himself willing to face the Mexican in his country.

“I’ll fight him in any fight. United States, Mexico. I just want the trilogy. He can be sure that I won't be the same Figueiredo from the last fight. I’m going to come back focused and knock him out inside his house,” he concluded.

Deiveson's setback in UFC 263 It marked the second defeat in the Brazilian's professional MMA career. Before the setback, the athlete was going through a great moment in Ultimate, with six matches without losing.
