In search of another record, Conor McGregor targets Kamaru Usman: 'I'm going to knock him out too'

The Irishman revealed his desire to face Kamaru Usman when answering about the feeling of knocking out opponents in three weight categories

Former two-division UFC champion, Conor McGregor he still seems not satisfied with the number of belts won in the organization. Despite going through a low point in his career, with three defeats in the last four fights and recovering from a serious leg injury, the Irishman believes he still has enough to win a new title and break more records in Ultimate.

During a Q&A session with fans on social media, Conor McGregor was asked about the feeling of having knocked out opponents in three different weight categories. In response, the Irishman was very happy with the achievement, but stated that he would like to face Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title (up to 77 kg) to continue breaking records.

“It’s tremendous! I love this record! If I fight for the 77 kg belt I will knock him out (Kamaru Usman) also. With that I would have the fastest knockout in UFC title fights (13 seconds), the most knockdowns in a UFC title fight (5) and one more knockout in a UFC title fight. Three title fights. Three knockouts. Three new records. It’s right there,” McGregor replied.

Conor McGregor He fought in the welterweight division on three occasions. His debut in the category was in March 2016, when he ended up finishing by Nate diaz in the main fight of UFC 196 in what was his first defeat in the UFC octagon. Five months later, in the rematch against Nate, he won by majority decision. The Irishman's last appearance at 77 kg came in 2020, when he knocked out Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds.
