During a question and answer session with fans on his official Twitter profile, Conor McGregor reaffirmed that he will return to the octagon in 2022 and highlighted the rapid progress in recovery.
“(I’ll fight again) in 2022. I’m improving quickly! Working with the best team money can buy. I’ll be back as soon as possible, with full ammunition”, replied the Irishman.
Asked if he would consider dedicating himself fully to boxing in the final stretch of his career, Conor stated that it is a possibility, but highlighted that the operated leg will be “more than equipped to kick” and indicated that he will fight for the UFC belt upon his return.
"Possibly. Although the leg will be more than equipped to kick. I'm going straight back to a title fight on my return and that drives the bums in this business crazy. This is the real reason for so many disrespectful comments. God bless you,” McGregor wrote.
