Defeated by José Aldo in the co-main event of UFC 265, held last Saturday (7), in Houston (USA), Peter Munhoz showed sportsmanship in dealing with the setback. After the negative result against Manauara, the São Paulo native recognized the greatness of his compatriot and congratulated the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) on social media.

“People's champion, king of Rio and future bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg). An honor to have shared the octagon with you”, wrote Munhoz, on his Twitter account.
Even though he lost in one of the most important fights in his professional MMA career, Pedro is sure that he did a good job over the weekend. The fighter then thanked the fans for their support and the 'American Top Team' for their efforts.
“Last night meant a lot to me. After another year of the pandemic, having fought one of the best of all time was incredible. We fought with our hearts and being able to share it with the fans again was fantastic. Thank you all very much for the messages. I would also like to especially thank my family and my team, 'American Top Team', and congratulate my opponent on the tough battle we fought”, the Brazilian posted on his Instagram account.
With the victory over Munhoz, Aldo defended his fifth position in the bantamweight division and is now once again dreaming of a new future title fight in the group. Pedro, in turn, should remain in ninth place.
