Toquinho and the move to welterweight: 'I want to go down, but I don't want to make a hasty decision'

Fighter from Minas Gerais begins work to move up to the up to 77 kg category.

ToquinhoAfter joining the Team Nogueira team, Rousimar Toquinho, you can now move down the category. At 1,73m tall, the black belt is considered low for the middleweight division (up to 84 kg) and could move up to welterweight (up to 77 kg) in his next fight.

The struggling Minas Gerais player undergoes a series of clinical and physical examinations to test his weight loss. The work basically consists of diet and nutritional supplementation, together with a team made up of a doctor, pharmacist and nutritionist.

“My desire to go down to 77 kg is great, but I don't want to make a hasty decision,” said Toquinho, who added: “I'll only really go down if my body's response is positive. I am doing fully integrated work between nutrition, physical preparation, orthomolecular medicine and supplementation. You can be sure that I have a very good team looking after me”, he added.
