Khabib Nurmagomedov reveals who was the fighter with the hardest blows he faced in his career

During his appearance on a podcast, the Russian stated that Justin Gaethje was the opponent with the heaviest blows he faced

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from MMA in 2020 with a perfect record. Throughout his career, the former lightweight champion achieved 29 victories without ever being defeated. This does not mean, however, that the Russian did not encounter difficulties along the way.

During participation in the podcast Mike Tyson, Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed that, among all the opponents he had in his career, Justin gaethje It was the one that hit the hardest.

"That guy (Justin gaethje) hits like a truck. Nobody hit me harder than Justin gaethje. The kicks, the punches, the left hook, the right hook,” Khabib revealed.

Justin gaethje was the last opponent of Khabib Nurmagomedov in the career. The two faced each other in the main fight of the UFC 254, in October 2020 and the Russian emerged victorious via submission in the second round after suffering hard blows from the then interim champion in the first round.

“I made him hit me, you know? When I went to the octagon, I thought 'ok, I'm going to go there and I'm going to take him to the depths of the ocean... I'm going to make him tired in the stand-up fight and I'm going to take him to the ground and finish him'”, explained the former champion.

With his gloves hanging up for almost a year, Khabib has been working as a coach for his teammates Islam makhachev, Islam Mamedov and his younger cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov.
