Luke Rockhold is scheduled to face Vitor belfort in the main fight of UFC Combate 2, an event that takes place on the 18th, in Jaraguá do Sul, a city in the interior of Santa Catarina. However, despite the Brazilian playing at home, the last Strikeforce champion hopes to have fans in his favor.
In an interview with the North American website MMAFightCorner, Rockhold said that the Brazilian fans don't like Belfort's style and hopes to have this support in the octagon when he faces Vitor in the city of Santa Catarina.
“It seems like I have a lot of fans in Brazil and when I beat Belfort, obviously, I will bring them to my side. From what I know, many Brazilians don't like Vitor. They think he's a cheat and I'm getting a lot of support on social media from fans,” said Luke.
In addition to hoping for support from the Brazilian fans, Rockhold hopes to show his technical superiority in the Octagon. According to the North American, he is more technical and has more heart than Vitor belfort.
“I have an advantage in all resources, actually. Vitor will always have quick hands and power, but I will bring him a lot of problems. I'm bigger, I take better shots. I believe I'm better on the ground, in wrestling, in standing distance. There are several ways I can win this fight. And most importantly: I have more heart than Vitor. I’m more of a man than him”, he concluded.
