Colby Covington plans fight against Israel Adesanya after facing Kamaru Usman

Always confident, the American declared that he intends to face the champion of the middleweight division after the rematch against the leader of his division in November

In preparation to compete for the welterweight belt (up to 77,1kg) against Kamaru Usman, Colby covington Already thinking about the next steps after the fight. In an interview with the official YouTube channel of a beverage brand, the North American declared that he plans to face the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) Israel adesanya after the clash against the Nigerian.

“I will fight in my weight class against Kamaru Usman. I'm going to win the welterweight title and then I'm going to work with you to gain muscle mass and we're going to move up to middleweight. Then we will win Israel adesanya,” stated Colby.

On November 6th, Covington will have his opportunity for a rematch against the group leader Kamaru Usman. In the first duel between them, in December 2019, the Nigerian won by knockout in the fifth round. The second fight was scheduled for the UFC 268 which will take place at Madison Square Garden, in New York (USA).

Current number one in the category's ranking, Colby has won eight of his last nine fights. His last fight was in September 2020, when he defeated the former champion Kamaru Usman. The North American has a record in the sport of 16 triumphs and two setbacks.
