Former featherweight title challenger, Chad Mendes comes out of retirement and signs with 'bare-knuckle boxing'

Out of action since 2018, the American returns to competition and is now part of the Bare Knuckle FC squad

Retired since 2018, Chad Mendes surprised everyone by announcing his return to combat sports. The former challenger for the UFC featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg) signed with Bare Knuckle FC and will be another former Ultimate member to be part of the 'bare knuckle boxing' squad. The information was released on the organization's social networks.

Former WEC fighter, Chad Mendes He was another member of the now-defunct organization to join the UFC fighter roster. From the beginning, 'Money' stood out as one of the main names in the featherweight division. On three occasions, the North American competed for the category belt. Against José Aldo, in 2012 and 2014 and against Conor McGregor in 2015, when he fought for the interim title.

Now in his 'new home', the North American joins other former UFC members such as Hector Lombard, Thiago Pitbull e paige vanzant who are now part of the 'bare-knuckle boxing' squad. The date and opponent for Mendes' debut in the organization have not yet been confirmed. The fighter retired from mixed martial arts with 18 triumphs and five setbacks.
