Without fighting since February, the Brazilian Demian Maia is about to return to the Octagon. The fighter confirmed, in an interview given to the “Mundo da Luta” program last Sunday night (28), that he must sign an agreement to fight at UFC 163, in Rio de Janeiro, on August 3, and hinted that his opponent must be Josh koscheck.

“I can't comment, but it's almost closed. I think that next week, maybe even this Monday, we will know. The possibility of it being in Rio is huge”, said Demian.

Regarding his opponent, the Brazilian denied that there is already an agreement for him to face Josh koscheck, as published by the “MMA News” website. However, Demian ended up showing that his opponent could actually be the American by listing his likely clashes in the welterweight division.

The paulistano Demian Maia, 35 years old, is a UFC veteran – with 16 fights already held and a record of 12 wins and four losses. Demian is undefeated since moving down to the welterweight division last year. In the current division he occupies fifth place in the Ultimate rankings.
