Amanda Nunes speaks out after her fight at UFC 265 was canceled

With Covid-19, female MMA legend regrets missing out on duel against Julianna Peña, which would take place on August 7

Infected by Covid-19, Amanda nunes manifested himself after having his UFC 265 cancelled. On social media, the bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.) lamented the fact that she had to leave her commitment in front of Julianna Pena, which would take place on August 7th. The Bahian, however, guaranteed the duel will take place in the near future.

“We were more than ready for this fight. Unfortunately, shit happens. Stay tuned for a new date. I tested positive for Covid-19”, wrote the 'Leoa', in her account on Instagram.

No UFC 265, Amanda would put her bantamweight title on the line for the seventh time. Considered by many to be the best fighter of all time, Nunes would face off against Peña, the underdog in the bookmakers and current number five in the category's ranking.

The clash against Julianna would mark the Bahian's second appearance of the season. In March, the Brazilian legend defended his featherweight title (up to 65,7kg) by running over Megan anderson.

Outside of the co-main fight, the star of the August 7th event ended up losing his second title fight. Now, the show will only feature Derrick Lewis e Cyryl Gane exchanging forces for the interim heavyweight title (up to 120,2kg.).
