After the defeat to TJ Dillashaw in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 32, Cory Sandhagen I didn't want to hear about complaining. The bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) promised to come back better, stated that he will still be world champion and said that he heard from Sean Shelby (Ultimate matchmaker) the promise that he is still one fight away from a title shot. The statement was given to 'ESPN' after the show this Saturday (24).

“I don’t want to be a crybaby. I will come back. I'll get better with this. That's what I'm going to do and I'm still going to become world champion. Hopefully by next year,” said Sandhagen.

Second placed in the division rankings, Cory heard a promise from UFC matchmaker Shean Shelby that even with the loss to TJ, he is still one victory away from competing for the division title.

“Sean Shelby just spoke to me back there. I made him promise me that I'm still one fight away from fighting for the title. He came back and said, 'There's nothing I can do about your loss (to TJ) but I promise you're still one fight away from the title.' He promised me so that's what we're aiming for”, concluded 'Sandman'.

At 29 years old, Cory remains, despite the defeat, one of the big names in the under-61,2kg category. The North American has a record of 14 triumphs and three setbacks in professional MMA.
