Unknown steals the show at EliteXC

Seth Petruzelli steals the show and beats Kimbo

Chosen for the preliminary card of the event, the unknown Seth Petruzelli stole the show and became the main highlight of EliteXC, which ended recently at the Bank Atlantic Center, in Florida, United States.

After the weigh-in held yesterday, Ken Shamrock, who was scheduled to perform in the main event of the show against Kimbo Slice, was injured in training and was prevented from fighting by the Athletic Commission. In a hurry, the event organizers looked for an opponent for the EliteXC poster boy. Frank Shamrock, who commented on the show on the CBS television network, offered to fight, but the fight was not accepted by the management, who preferred to pull Seth, who would face Aaron Rosa, from the preliminary card to the main event.

Light heavyweight fighter, Petruzelli, overcame the weight difference and surprised the audience after just 14 seconds, by counterattacking the “internet brawler” with a well-aimed jab, which led to Kimbo being knocked down, being punished until the interruption of the referee.

In the other fights of the night, the Brazilians were able to celebrate the good victory of Chris Cyborg who defeated the Japanese Yoko Takahashi, by decision of the judges, after dominating the three rounds. Murilo Ninja, after a bad start in the first round, recovered well in the fight and when he had some control over the fight, he ended up being knocked out by Benji Radach, in the second round.
