A meeting this Friday (19) could define one of the UFC's most anticipated fights, between the champions Georges St Pierre e Anderson Silva. The information was confirmed by Ultimate's president, Dana White, at a press event in the city of San Jose (USA). The leader stated that the Canadian's intention will be the agenda of the meeting.
“If Georges (St. Pierre) tells me 'I want to fight Anderson Silva', do you think I'm going to answer 'No, you're going to fight John hendricks and we'll talk about it later,'?” White said.
One of the biggest doubts regarding this highly anticipated fight was its circumstances. In this regard, Dana White stated that the fight would not be valid for the unification of the middleweight and welterweight titles, and that the champions would remain with their belts – regardless of a defeat in the superfight.
Another fact that increased expectations for the Spider x GSP duel was a recent statement by the Canadian's coach, Firas Zahabi, to the website sherdog. Zahabi declared that St. Pierre has two options for its future: face Anderson Silva and retire immediately or face John hendricks and extend your career.
