The inclusion of the women's category in the UFC sparked women's interest in MMA. The biggest proof is the former boxing world champion Holly holm. The North American, who worked in boxing and MMA for three years, announced that she is leaving the 'Noble Art' with an eye on a place in the UFC.
“When we were deciding what to do, my coach told me I wanted to climb a new mountain. This sport (MMA) lit a fire in me, and I will follow my heart”, said Holm at a press conference to promote his last boxing fight, which takes place on May 11, against Mary McGee.
Holm, who has three wins in MMA, has already set a goal for her career: to beat her compatriot Ronda Rousey, for the UFC bantamweight belt..
“My job is to prepare to take down Ronda Rousey. I'm going to depend a lot on Winkeljohn at this point, but I kind of know the route we're going to take. After four or five fights, we'll be challenging Ronda Rousey”, ended.
