The talent of the fighters who participated in the evaluations for the The Ultimate Fighter 18 impressed UFC president Dana White. So much so that, after the observations, in an interview with the website MMA Junkie, he admitted the future creation of a new female category in the organization and justified his point of view

“If you think about it, when we started this organization, we had heavyweights, light heavyweights, middleweights and welterweights. That was it. When we brought in the lightweight division (under 70kg), everyone was like 'This is crazy. They are very small. no one will ever see it,'” White recalled.

“As the sport evolves, and continues to grow, we are adding weight classes and the sport is getting bigger and bigger. There are more and more talented guys in all weight classes. The same thing will happen to women”, said the leader.

Currently, when it comes to women, the UFC only has the bantamweight category (up to 61,2 kg). The current champion of the organization is undefeated Ronda Rousey, which will be challenged by Zingano cat, the other coach of TUF 18 – scheduled to start in September.
