Considered one of the biggest names in UFC welterweight history (up to 77kg), Nick Diaz may be close to his return. Ultimate is working towards a rematch between the veteran and Robbie Lawler, In September. The information was disclosed by the organization's president, Dana White, in an interview with the Canadian channel 'TSN'.

If the fight is confirmed, Diaz will be back after about six years away from MMA. In his last appearance, the former welterweight title challenger shared the octagon with Anderson Silva, in a fight that ended 'without result'. The 37-year-old veteran has a record of 26 wins, nine losses and two fights without results in his career.
On the other hand, Lawler is not going through a good phase in his career. Currently, the North American is suffering from a tough sequence of four consecutive defeats, the last being against Neil Magny, in a fight that took place in August 2020. His last victory came in 2017, when he defeated Donald Cerrone in the unanimous decision of the judges. Professional since 2001, Robbie has a record of 28 positive results, 15 negative results and one 'no result' fight.
It won't be the first time that Diaz and Lawler have shared the Octagon. In 2004, at UFC 47, Nick defeated Robbie with a brutal second-round knockout.
