Dana says he's optimistic, but gives an ultimatum for Nick Diaz's return to the UFC

UFC President reaffirms conversations with veteran, however, wants athlete to perform in 2021

The possible return of Nick Diaz Ultimate continues to be a relevant topic in the MMA universe. President of the organization, Dana White was optimistic about the veteran's return, however, he gave the American an ultimatum. In an interview with 'UFC Saudi', the agent spoke about the subject.

“We still don’t have anything confirmed, but I remain optimistic. Look, if he's going to fight again, it'll be this year or never. We have communication, but nothing certain,” said White.

Former Strikeforce champion and former challenger for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.), Nick Diaz hasn't performed since 2015, when he shared the octagon with Anderson Silva. In 2020, however, the veteran showed signs that he could resume his career.

In recent months, Diaz has been releasing training images and is in excellent physical shape. The athlete, however, remains without an opponent and a date for a possible return.

At 37 years old, Nick has 37 commitments as a professional in MMA. Throughout his career in the sport, the fighter won 26 victories, suffered nine defeats and has two 'unsuccessful' fights.
