Former UFC fighter Dan Hardy says McGregor is a 'better martial artist' than Poirier

The former challenger for the welterweight belt (under 77,1kg) praised the Irishman but made a point of emphasizing the technical qualities of the 'Diamond'

Former Ultimate fighter Dan Hardy also spoke about the long-awaited trilogy between Conor McGregor e Dustin poirier No. UFC 264 next Saturday (10). The Englishman declared that the 'Notório' is a better martial artist but remembered that the 'Diamond' is a very dangerous athlete. The statement was made in an interview with 'Submission Radio'.

“I think he's a better martial artist than Poirier. I think he has a better grasp of range, a better understanding of the application of martial arts and knows how to work with someone psychologically as well,” Hardy said.

Even with the praise for the former featherweight champion, Hardy pointed out the Irish fighter's need for evolution and made a point of remembering the dangers of a fight against Poirier.

“You can't just go in there with the skills you gained early in your career and expect it to carry you to the end. You need to evolve. Especially when you have a 'dog' like Poirier in front of you, who will take you into deep waters and see what you're made of”, concluded the English fighter.
