Another fight involving a Brazilian athlete was scheduled for the UFC in Combate 3, an event that hosts the finals of TUF 2. According to the Tatame website, the bantamweight Raphael Assunção will face Englishman Vaughan Lee on fight night on June 8th.
Raphael, who is currently sixth in the bantamweight division according to the Ultimate rankings, is 30 years old and has a history of 23 fights. In total, the Pernambuco native won 19 fights and lost just four. Since dropping down a category, Assunção has not lost in the UFC, with three consecutive victories – against Johnny Eduardo, Issei Tamura and Mike Easton.
His opponent, Englishman Vaughan Lee, is just three months younger than Rafael, also 30 years old. The Brit has a record of 22 fights, with 13 wins, eight losses and one draw. In his last fight, Vaughan beat the Japanese Motonobu Tezuka at home in the UFC London.
UFC on Combate 3, known in the United States as UFC on FUEL TV 10, is the event that will host the finals of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 2. The fight night will be held at the Ginásio Paulo Sarasate, in Fortaleza (CE), on June 8th. The main confrontation of the night will put this season's TUF coaches, Rogério Minotauro and Fabricio Werdum.
