Tiago Alves from São Paulo and Yan Cabral from Rio are the first athletes to secure a place in the quarterfinals of TUF Brasil 2. The fighters, who are part of the Fabricio Werdum, beat Cleiton Foguete and David Viera, from the Rodrigo Minotauro, and advanced in the dispute. The third program of the UFC reality show, shown this Sunday (31), began with the athletes getting to know the house where they will be staying. But soon after, the coaches called the fighters to the CT and explained the rules of the competition, prizes for the winners and bonuses for submissions and knockouts during the program.
Then it was time to schedule the first fight. As Fabricio Werdum had won the draw in the previous program, he had the possibility of choosing the first confrontation. Those selected were Tiago Alves to represent the Werdum team and Cleiton Foguete from the Minotauro team.
Tiago Alves vs. Rocket
The first fight of the night was marked by the dominance of Tiago Alves. The Werdum team athlete took advantage of the right moment to take Cleiton Foguete to the ground and keep his rival on his back, adding points. The fighter from Minotauro's team, who still had a lot of injuries from the elimination stage, even tried to come back more aggressive in the second round. When the fight resumed, Yan waited for David's actions. As the athlete from Minotauro's team didn't attack, he landed a good kick to his rival's ribs. Sensing the blow, Viera attempted a takedown, but ended up on the bottom.
