The UFC's return to Sweden could have a big last-minute loss. The light heavyweight Alexander Gustafson, the main Swedish name in MMA, suffered a cut near his eye during training, and will hardly be able to face Gegard Mousasi in the main fight of UFC on FUEL 9, an event that takes place next Saturday in Stockholm. The news of Gustafsson's injury was reported by Swedish network STV.
The UFC has not yet officially commented on the Swede's injury, but even the North American's name Phil Davis, who is scheduled to face Brazilian Vinny Pezão at UFC 159, appears as a likely replacement.
