Deiveson makes a sincere outburst after defeat and asks for an immediate rematch with Moreno

After losing flyweight belt to Mexican at UFC 263, Brazilian regrets severe weight cut and suggests trilogy against rival

After suffering a tough defeat and losing the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg.) to Brandon Moreno, Deiveson Figueiredo Just think of one word: revenge. Recognizing the superiority of the Mexican in the co-main fight of the UFC 263, the man from Pará made a sincere outburst after the setback. In an interview with 'Combate', the Brazilian cited the severe weight cut and suggested a trilogy against his tormentor.

“Today, I left the hotel with a very bad feeling. I knew it wasn't my day. (…) I got in there, but I didn’t really fight as I am. I really want to ask for an immediate rematch, because I won the first fight. They took a point away from me. Now, I want the trilogy, to get my belt back”, said the Brazilian.

With a performance below that which led him to an unprecedented victory of the flyweight title for Brazil, Deiveson justified his lackluster performance. According to the man from Pará, the weight cut ended up influencing the setback.

“It was the weight cut. I didn't have a healthy weight cut. It was very difficult, but I did it. Even so, I didn’t have an adequate income”, he concluded.

The defeat to Moreno marked the end of a six-fight undefeated streak in the Brazilian's record. The last setback for Pará had happened in 2019, when the 'God of War' ended up being overcome by Jussier formiga.
