Moreno highlights superiority over Deiveson, but does not rule out a trilogy with the Brazilian

The dominant victory of Brandon Moreno drew attention to those who believed in a new balanced confrontation in the co-main fight of the UFC 263. New flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg), the Mexican highlighted his superiority in the rematch against the Brazilian, but did not rule out a trilogy against the man from Pará. In the press conference after the event, the group's leader stated that he intends to rest, but admitted the chance to face the 'God of War' again.

“To be honest, it was six months of preparation. Game plan, go to the gym, try to get all the fight moves right. I definitely need a vacation. I need rest. After the first fight, I tried to enjoy my family at Christmas, but part of my mind was still on the fight, I was still in Figueiredo, with the pressure of the rematch. I knew the rematch would come”, said the champion.

Asked about a name for his first title defense, the Mexican did not hide some possibilities. The athlete is aiming for a confrontation against an athlete who is in a great phase in the organization, in addition to a possible trilogy with the man from Pará.

“I have some names. Askar askarov has been doing very well. cody garbrandt wants to go down to the division. (…) The trilogy with Figueiredo could be a possibility, but this fight was not balanced”, he concluded.

With his triumph over Figueiredo, Brandon made history by becoming the first UFC champion born in Mexico. In addition to the achievement, the athlete confirmed the great moment in his career, extending his undefeated streak to seven fights.
