If Lavar Johnson's situation was already complicated in Ultimate, after two consecutive defeats, it may have gotten even worse. This is because the heavyweight was caught in an anti-doping test after his fight against Brendan Schaub, at UFC 157, on February 23, with his testosterone level well above normal.
According to the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), in a report published on the website MMA Junkie, an additional test “confirmed that testosterone was compatible with steroid administration.” The other tests carried out at the event did not return positive results.
Lavar “Big” Johnson is 35 years old and has been fighting MMA professionally since 2004. The heavyweight has a record of 17 wins and seven losses. Furthermore, Johnson never won a fight by decision of the judges, there were 15 knockouts and two submissions.
