The defeat against Charles of the Bronx in the fight for the vacant lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg.) does not seem to have demotivated Michael chandler. Aiming for a comeback and another opportunity to reach the top of the division, the North American is negotiating a confrontation against Justin gaethje, with no set date yet. Now, he also reveals that he is motivated by the duel and promises to knock him out.

“I think 'Chandler vs. Gaethje' is probably the fans' favorite fight right now. It becomes a part of the main highlights in my cartel. We can enjoy a good old war. That's how it works and that's how I'm programmed,” said Chandler, in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.
'Iron', as he is known, reveals that Gaethje has been in his plans since he signed with Ultimate. The fight has not yet had the opportunity to be arranged, although the fight is finally about to be made official.
"Justin gaethje It’s been in our plans – mine and my manager’s – since we signed with the UFC. He's always on the tip of his tongue”, concluded the fighter.
Former Bellator champion, Michael chandler arrived in Ultimate in January this year. Currently, he won Dan Hooker, but was knocked out by Charles of the Bronx in the next fight. At 35 years old, 'Iron' has a record of 22 triumphs and six setbacks in his career.
