Cody Garbrandt speaks out after defeat at UFC Vegas 27 and praises Rob Font

Former bantamweight champion thanked fans for their support after yet another setback and stated that he is working to return to being part of the division's elite

After being defeated by Rob font In the main fight of UFC Vegas 27, Cody Garbrandy spoke publicly about the setback. The former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) praised his opponent from last Saturday (22), spoke about his plans for the future and thanked his fans for their support. The statement was given in a post on his 'Instagram'.

“There are no excuses, Rob was the best fighter today (Saturday). First of all, I want to thank God for keeping us safe inside. I still saw some positive points in the fight, but it's something I'll work on later with my teammates. We are striving to become one of the best and become world champions again. Sometimes there are adversities that come into our dreams and make you work harder and realize what needs to be done,” said Garbrandt.

The former division champion thanked his fans for their encouragement and declared that they are his motivation to continue fighting.

"I am so gratefull. I wanted to come here and tell you (fans) how much I appreciate and love your support. It makes me very happy. I'm trying to fight with all my heart for you. Thank you”, concluded Cody.

After winning the bantamweight belt in December 2016 against Dominick Cruz, Garbrandt has not been achieving good results. Since then, there have been five fights with just one win and four losses. His only triumph was a knockout over Raphael Assunção No. UFC 250 on June 2020.
