Font praises Garbrandt and curbs excitement about a possible bantamweight belt fight

After putting on a show against the former category champion at UFC Las Vegas 27, the athlete preaches respect for his rival and admits patience for a title fight

The dominant victory over one of the biggest names in recent bantamweight history (up to 61,2kg.) doesn't seem to have gone to his head. Rob font. In a press conference after the event, the athlete spoke about the subject.

“I still think I need to wait. I could overpower him or knock him out. I have to wait. I learned to be patient, so I will be patient”, said the bantamweight.

Faced with the biggest victory in his career to date, Font is aware of the feat achieved this weekend. An admirer of Garbrandt, the fighter showed respect to the former champion, who failed to win his second consecutive victory.

“I have a lot of respect for him (Cody), I'm a big fan. Climb into the octagon and do what he does, win the belt. Obviously he lost (the title), but he's a cool 'kid'. He’s going to knock out or be knocked out,” he concluded.
