Weidman on fight against Anderson Silva: 'I intend to knockout or submit'

North American fighter recognizes the Brazilian's talent, but says he is not intimidated by the "greatest fighter in history"

Weidman-featuredChris Weidman won the chance to face the Brazilian Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight belt (up to 84 kg.). But the 28-year-old American  hopes to be more than a challenger for the “Spider” title.

In an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting, Weidman guarantees that he will seek a knockout or submission against the greatest champion in the history of Ultimate.

“I'm very motivated to do my best and not just be another challenger. Every time I had complete preparation, I managed to knock out or submit. And I intend to continue that. I'm going to face the best fighter of all time, but that won't change my confidence. I'm very excited,” said the American, who is undefeated in MMA with nine victories.
