As soon as it was announced that alistair overeem wouldn't face Junior Gypsy at UFC 160, in May, the New Zealander Mark Hunt was willing to replace the Dutchman in the fight against the former heavyweight champion. Even so, the Ultimate organization preferred to postpone the original confrontation, which left doubt as to whether Hunt's name was ever considered to fill the place left by Overeem. However, this Thursday (07), at Twitter, UFC president Dana White revealed that things didn't work out that way. According to the leader, Mark Hunt refused the fight.
When asked by a fan about the reasons that led him to postpone the fight, White was direct, as is typical of him. “Listen here, fool, Mark Hunt refused to fight Junior Gypsy on the same night. Why don’t you shut up if you don’t know what you’re talking about?”, he replied. “Mark Hunt he joined the group of the ten best heavyweight fighters, and will receive an opponent at that height in his next fight. But he refused to face Junior Gypsy”, shot another tweet.
