With a fight scheduled against Julio Cesar Chaves Jr. for June 19, the Brazilian responded to a challenge made by an old acquaintance: Vitor belfort. At a press conference to promote his new challenge, in Guadalajara, 'Spider' spoke about staging a rematch against the 'Phenomenon' under the rules of the 'noble art'.

“Vitor is a great athlete, a great fighter, a reference in sport in Brazil. When it comes to a fight between us, anything is possible. He is a super talent, who will definitely be very successful in boxing. Everything is very new, a new era and good luck to Vitor in this endeavor”, said the MMA legend.
Recently, Silva confirmed that he no longer intends to perform in mixed martial arts. In the same interview, the athlete once again stated that the sport that made him known worldwide is in the past and that he wants to take advantage of new opportunities.
“MMA is a page that has passed in my life. I’m here to represent Brazil and give my best to boxing”, he concluded.
While Anderson is in the final stretch of preparation for his boxing fight, Vitor is still looking for an opponent to get back into action. Former UFC champion, the veteran mentioned, in addition to Anderson, names such as the legendary Evander Holyfield and Oscar De La Hoya.
