After losing his unbeaten record in Ultimate, Claudius Hannibal is ready to resume the good phase in the organization. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the Brazilian admitted to having made mistakes in preparing for his last challenge and spoke excitedly about this Saturday's commitment, against Court mcgee. This weekend, the Mato Grosso native will make his first performance in 2021.

“What held me back (in the last challenge) was my preparation. I had three overtraining (overtraining) and two weeks before the fight (against James Krause), I was taking antibiotics. I had the wrong training, I didn't have my coach there. That was what happened. It's my fault for not knocking him out or submitting him. That’s what happened”, said Cláudio.
In the UFC since 2014, Hannibal has closely followed the evolution of the welterweights (up to 77kg.), which today has Kamaru Usman as an absolute leader. Analyzing the current moment of the group, the Brazilian spoke about how he sees the scenario of one of the most disputed categories in the organization.
“I have to work hard every day to deserve to be here. I've seen a lot of guys come and go and what I expect from my performances is always the best. I push myself a lot to continue my winning streak and stay in the UFC. That’s how I see myself”, said the Mato Grosso native.
This weekend, the Brazilian will have the opportunity to test himself against an Ultimate veteran. Opponent of Court mcgee, Hannibal was optimistic and celebrated the 'marriage of styles' between the two.
“He's a guy who 'falls in'. It's a style that I like. A guy who won't want to 'tie up' the fight. It will favor my game,” he said.
At 38 years old, Hannibal is heading towards his 17th commitment as a professional in MMA. In the sport since 2007, the Brazilian has 14 positive results and two negative results.
