Returning to combat after four years of retirement, Anthony Johnson he struggled but beat José Augusto 'Gugu' in the co-main fight of the Bellator 258 and secured himself in the semi-finals of the light heavyweight grand prix (up to 93kg). With the victory, the North American qualifies himself to face the current champion Vadim nemkov. The show took place this Friday (7) in Uncasville, Connecticut (USA).
THE FIGHT

The two fighters started the fight very aggressively. In the first minute, Patricky Pitbull landed an unintentional low kick on Peter Queally. During the break for the final stage, the Brazilian was bleeding profusely and after examining the fighter, the organization's doctor did not authorize Pitbull's return to the fight. With that, Peter was declared the winner of the confrontation.

The duel that opened the main card began with the two athletes studying each other. Michael Page with his usual low guard and Derek Anderson waiting for a 'good' one to attack. With his speed and plasticity in his strikes, 'Venom' hit the North American and quickly left the range of action. Derek soon approached and locked Page against the railing to try to knock him down, however, the Englishman remained firmly on his feet. When the two athletes returned to the center, Michael landed a kick that hit Derek squarely in the nose, which began to bleed profusely.
During the break for the second round, due to the condition of Derek's nose, the organization's doctor did not allow the fighter to return to the fight and declared the fight over.
With another fearless victory, Michael achieves his fifth consecutive victory in the organization. At 34 years old, the Englishman has a record of 19 wins and just one defeat. His only career setback came in May 2019 for the Brazilian Douglas lima.
