Michael Bisping explains why he turned down an invitation to box against Jake Paul

Retired since 2017, Michael Bisping was close to returning to competition in combat sports. The former UFC middleweight (up to 83,9kg) champion revealed that he had received an invitation to face the youtuber Jake Paul and they even offered a contract, but declined for the amounts offered.

“I received a contract offer, but they didn't offer good money. It was good money, but if I have to play the role of an idiot boxing a YouTuber, I want to earn more. I'm not coming out of retirement, but it's free money for me. If the number were good, I wouldn't be crazy not to accept it”, said Bisping in an interview with the website 'LowKickMMA'.

O 'Count', as is known, was the first option for fighting Jake. He, however, stated that he values ​​the YouTuber's efforts in the noble art and makes a point of praising him.

“Jake was very smart. He used me to make it seem like he was looking for real challenges. But he went to fight Askren afterwards. That's good for him and you can't hate him. He is a connected guy and passionate about the sport. He knows how to piss people off and turn that into dollars in his bank account,” concluded the fighter.
