Masvidal projects future and says he cannot retire without winning the Ultimate welterweight title

Jorge masvidal failed for the second time in his opportunity to win the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.) when he was knocked out by Kamaru Usman No. UFC 261 last Saturday (24). Even so, the American revealed plans to return to the top and promised not to 'rest' in his career until he achieves his dream.

“I love the sport and I can’t retire without the title. I want to give as much as I can. I'm 36 years old and I feel good enough to go to the gym and I don't let myself be overtaken by young people. So, why not make another run (for the belt)?”, said Masvidal in an interview with 'ESPN'.

Asked about his next step for the future, the 'Jesus of the Streets', as he is known, stated that he should fight more often this year. Furthermore, he says that the idea is to take action as many times as possible to return to the top of the division.

“I will definitely fight again this year. The aim is to fight hard. If I can get at least one fight a year, I'll be happy. If I can get two, which is unlikely, that would be cool,” he concluded.

Ultimate representative since 2013, Jorge masvidal has a record of 35 wins and 15 losses. The American had two consecutive opportunities to win the welterweight belt and was defeated in both by Usman.
