In an interview with the podcast 'The Bill Simmons Podcast', President Dana White stated that the North American had asked for a US$30 million grant (around R$165 million at current prices) to sign the fight contract.

“In your business, Jon Jones is saying he wants $30 million guaranteed. The way this works is, all these guys share the pay-per-view. We will share the profits from the fight with him. That's how it works. That’s how you run a business and don’t go bankrupt,” White said.
