the fight between Francis Ngannou e Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title (up to 120,2kg.) seems to be increasingly far from happening. In an interview with the podcast 'The Bill Simmons Podcast', President Dana White stated that the North American had asked for a US$30 million grant (around R$165 million at current prices) to sign the fight contract.

“In your business, Jon Jones is saying he wants $30 million guaranteed. The way this works is, all these guys share the pay-per-view. We will share the profits from the fight with him. That's how it works. That’s how you run a business and don’t go bankrupt,” White said.

In addition to considering the amount requested by Jones to be unrealistic, Dana also indicated that she could give it to Derrick Lewis the chance to compete for the category belt. O 'Black beast', as he is known, comes from a series of four consecutive victories and has already won Francis Ngannou in the past.

"Derrick Lewis He's the guy who deserves the fight. He's a heavyweight, he won Francis Ngannou, did well in his last fights and is in the top 3 of the division. He deserves the fight and it should happen. We will follow and when Jon Jones If you are ready, you will let us know”, concluded the agent.

As soon as he knocked out Stipe Miocic and became the heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou opened up the possibility to face Jon Jones in his first title defense. Then, however, Dana White suggested that the North American go down to middleweight (up to 83,9kg) so as not to have to face the Cameroonian. Thus, the 'Bones' stated that he feels discredited by Ultimate and even threatened to retire from the sport if the treatment did not change.
