Dan Henderson questions Anderson Silva’s invincibility: “Choose your opponents”

The Brazilian Anderson Silva He holds the longest winning streak in UFC history and the organization's record for consecutive title defenses. Spider already has 16 wins and is undefeated in Ultimate, and has also successfully defended the middleweight belt ten times. But the numbers and records collected by Anderson don't seem to impress the veteran Dan Henderson, who questioned the Brazilian in an interview with the North American website MMA Interviews.

“I think, in the last five years, Anderson Silva has tried to choose his opponents and, in a way, manipulates the UFC”, said Hendo. The former PRIDE and Strikeforce champion also questioned the stance he believes is adopted by Spider. “Anderson tries to stay away from dangerous guys, or guys who have a bad style for him, so he can retire without having been defeated in the UFC. It's not the way I think a champion should behave but, at the same time, he wants to use the weapons he has to his advantage. It’s a debatable strategy,” he added.

Despite the criticism, Dan Henderson stated that the Anderson Silva, for someone who already lost at UFC 82 in 2008, would be the only fighter who would motivate him to move down a category again. “He is the only opponent that would make me move to middleweight. I'm feeling very comfortable at light heavyweight, there are a lot of people to fight in the category. Let’s see what the future holds for me,” he concluded.
