In advanced negotiations to face Conor McGregor No. UFC 264, Dustin poirier It once and for all took away the doubts of some Ultimate fans. After being provoked by an internet user on 'Twitter', accused of having 'fled' from a confrontation with Michael chandler, the North American countered the publication, confirming that he denied facing Charles of the Bronx for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg.), contrary to what the follower stated.

“You didn't turn down a fight against MC (Michael chandler)? You know he would beat you and Conor (McGregor),” the fan wrote.
Upon reading the publication, Poirier did not like the accusation at all and tried to refute it. In a single message, the North American denied it and said he had denied a fight against Do Bronx.
"No. I denied a fight against (Charles) Oliveira, you idiot”, published 'Diamante'.
The information that Dustin passed on a fight for the division title was revealed a few days ago by the UFC president, Dana White. Although he shared the news, the president did not say, at the time, who the American's opponent would be.
Current number one in the lightweight rankings, Poirier saw the trilogy against McGregor as a great financial opportunity. The North American, together with the Irishman, starred in one of the most profitable shows in the history of Ultimate.
Today, the dispute between Conor and Dustin is tied. In 2015, 'Notório' knocked out the North American and, more than five years later, 'Diamante' got revenge, in the UFC 257.
