Patrício Pitbull says he would 'embarrass' Volkanovski if they fought: 'He's not good at anything'

Current Bellator featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg), Patrick Pitbull gave his opinion on what a possible duel with Alexander Volkanovsky, leader of the same division in the UFC. The Brazilian exuded confidence, stating that he would defeat the Australian very easily and was dismissive of his utopian opponent's capabilities. The statement was given to the website 'Bloody elbow'.

“It would be a massacre. Volkanovski is not good at anything. He's not good on his feet and doesn't submit anyone. This won't work on me, I'll catch him and I'll hurt him. The only reason he accepted my challenge in the 'Twitter' It's because he knows Dana (White) wouldn't do that (a fight between the two). If we fought, I would finish him off, I would embarrass him”, declared the Brazilian.

Bellator featherweight (up to 65,7kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3kg) champion, Patrick Pitbull He is considered one of the greatest MMA athletes working outside the UFC. With a record of 31 wins and four losses, the Brazilian is number one in the ranking pound for pound from the organization chaired by Scott Coker. His last setback was in August 2016, when he was defeated by Ben henderson, by technical knockout, after injuring his right leg.

The athlete from Rio Grande do Norte will defend his featherweight title against Emmanuel Sanchez, this Friday (02), at Bellator 255, which will take place in Uncasville (USA). The contest will also be valid for the semi-finals of the under-65,7kg group tournament, which awards the winner with US$1 million (around R$5,7 million).

Current UFC featherweight leader, Alexander Volkanovsky has a record of 22 wins and one loss. Still undefeated in Ultimate, the Australian hasn't known what a setback is since May 2013. In his last fight, he won the rematch against Max Holloway, by points, in UFC 251, which took place in July 2020.
