This Tuesday (5), Ultimate announced Quinn Mulhern as the replacement for Sean Pierson, injured, for the fight against Rick Story (photo), scheduled for UFC 158. Quinn will make his debut in the Las Vegas organization, after the extinction from Strikeforce – where he had four fights and won three. The American is also a former King of the Cage welterweight champion.
His opponent, compatriot Rick Story, has been in Ultimate since 2009 and has already had eleven fights for the organization. His history, however, is not so regular. After a good start, with six wins in his first seven fights, Story lost three of his last four fights. The most recent failure occurred in his last appearance in the octagon, in October last year, in a fight against the Brazilian Demian Maia at UFC Rio 3.
The fight between Rick Story and Quinn Mulhern is scheduled to take place at UFC 158, on March 16, in Canada. The event will mark the defense of the welterweight belt by the Canadian Georges St Pierre against Nick Diaz. The card also features other fights involving some of the division's main names, such as: Carlos Condit x Rory McDonald and John hendricks x Jake ellenberger. Furthermore, the Brazilian Johnny Eduardo will have one of the preliminary clashes of the night against Yves Jaboiun, valid in the bantamweight category.
