“Honestly, I think Charles deserves it. He has a good winning streak, but I don't agree with Chandler being there. The guy only had one fight in the UFC and wasn't tested. His first fight ended quickly. I think that Justin gaethje ou Dustin poirier they could fight for the title, but Ultimate always has its own plans,” said Makhachev.

In recent weeks, the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) has been exchanging barbs, via social media, with the former champion of the category, Rafael Dos Anjos. Both fighters have verbally agreed to the fight and are awaiting a response from the organization. The Russian, however, stated that, if he does not face the Brazilian, he would like a confrontation against Justin gaethje.

One of the bets for the future of the UFC, Islam Makachev has a record of 19 wins and just one loss. His last setback was in October 2015, against Brazilian Adriano Martins. After that, the Russian started a streak of seven consecutive victories and reached eleventh position in the lightweight ranking.
