“The problem was not the weighing. It was one of the easiest weight cuts I've had in my career. The kilos were coming off very quickly. The problem is that I lost weight too early. Basically, the weigh-in starts at 9am (Las Vegas time) and I was ready at 5am,” said the fighter.

The combatant then explained that the problem started after she had to remain dehydrated for a 'window' of approximately four hours. In order not to exceed the limit established for bantamweight, the fighter could not consume food or water.

“When you cut weight, you can't keep it that way for long because you're already at the limit of dehydration. It was a problem and the reason that led to everything,” she said.

“I'm sad, because I feel incredible, I'm in shape. I know I can fight. It turns out that the Athletic Commission didn't release me, because they are taking care of the athletes. (…) So, I want to apologize to Ultimate and, especially, to Julia Avila. I hope we meet in the future”, she concluded.
