After being fired from Bellator, Dan Hornbuckle (photo) turned things around in the main fight of Legacy FC 17, held on Friday night (1), in San Antonio (USA). The 32-year-old American beat compatriot Pete Spratt by unanimous decision from the judges and won again after two consecutive failures in the former organization. His opponent on the night, Spratt is a 42-year-old MMA veteran with some UFC fights until the middle of the last decade. In the fight, Hornbuckle maintained a good rhythm and made use of good kicks and providential takedowns to get a 30-27 score from the judges.
In an interview given after the victory, Hornbuckle was very grateful to the coaches who accompanied him during his preparation. “I have the best striking, strength and conditioning coaches in the world,” he said. For the North American, this work was essential for him to achieve his first victory since August 2010, when he beat Brad Blackburn at Bellator 25.
