MMA legend, Khabib Nurmagomedov was present at UFC 259 and saw the victory of Jan Blachowicz about Israel adesanya. Upon watching the Pole's triumph, the Russian made a point of congratulating the athlete and explained why the fighter surpassed one of the biggest names in the company's recent history. "Congratulations. Great falls. Why did you win? Because of the falls. Takedowns are wrestling,” said Nurmagomedov, who is known for his grappling excellence.

Against Adesanya, Blachowicz encountered difficulties at the beginning of the duel. Faced with a faster opponent famous for his agility, Jan ended up being attacked in some situations.

Throughout the confrontation, however, the Pole put his strategy into practice. Intelligently, the champion made use of his physical strength and took the Nigerian to the ground with ease. The actions allowed Jan to manage the confrontation well, especially in the last round.

With the triumph over Israel, Blachowicz made his first title defense. Champion since September 2020, the athlete reached the top of the light heavyweight division by running over the promising Dominick reyes.
