“I think Marvin and I are 'knocking on the door' (to fight for the title). It's like a little middleweight tournament right now. (…) It excites me. Just being at the top and getting these opportunities, knowing what will follow on from that. However, I have a 'quarry' in front of me and I don't want to look too far ahead. I know that the Israel adesanya It's challenging me. I've been trying to fight him for a while now. We are destined to exchange forces, even when I fought at welterweight (up to 77kg.)”, said the Englishman, in an interview with ‘ESPN'.

Although he feels excited to be called upon by the champion, Darren knows he can't lose focus. However, although he will have to trade forces with Vettori before fighting for the belt, Till made a point of analyzing his 'dream fight'.

“Now, I’m focused on myself. (…) However, it is like this: I think it will be a duel of ‘magician against magician’. Who will have the kryptonite to beat the other's stand-up fight? I told you, I'm one of the best strikers in the UFC. Israel, too. (…) He’s in front of me at the moment,” he said.

Even without disrespecting Adesanya, who has held the group's belt since 2019, Till does not hide when asked if he would have the ability to surprise and beat the Nigerian. For Darren, who is coming off a defeat in a balanced match against Robert whittaker, his style could stand out against the division leader.

“I think I have what I need to beat him. I'm sure he's ready and he thinks he can beat me. It will be a good fight when it happens. It's great to be called up by the champion. Normally, the challengers ask for the fight. The champion is calling me. I must have done something right,” he finished.
