There are evils that come for good. This phrase can summarize the stance of Eugene Bareman, one of the Israel adesanya, after the pupil's defeat in the UFC 259. Analyzing the Nigerian's setback in the face of Jan Blachowicz, the coach believes that the negative result will add to his athlete's career and does not rule out a future rematch against the Pole. In an interview with 'Submission Radio', the trainer spoke about the subject.

“We learned a lot, to be honest. (…) Only a defeat can bring attention to detail, an excitement to do it again and fix some areas and rethink some things. We are excited about this setback. We can use this and take things to another level”, said the coach.

After speaking, Bareman tried to clarify that he does not intend to take away Blachowicz's merits in the confrontation. For the coach, the Pole, who defended the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg.) deserved the triumph, when he controlled the Nigerian's actions for a large part of the dispute.

“I think Israel did well. Did he have his best performance? No. Was it terrible? No. He just had a very good opponent in front of him. (Jan) also had a great team, with a good strategy and the right answers. (…) Let’s not take credit away from Jan. He did very well,” he said.

Although Adesanya and his team have publicly admitted that the Nigerian's plan is to return to middleweight (up to 83,9 kg), where he is champion, a new fight against Blachowicz is not off the cards. With a winning mentality, the Israeli team is thinking about repeating the duel in the future.

“We are competitive. (…) Israel will move down (division) and dominate the middleweight division for a while. I see Jan having a long reign as champion. I think we'll chase him again. He is a worthy opponent. I can't predict the future, but we will 'hunt' the 'Polish Force' again,” he concluded.

The setback for Blachowicz marked Adesanya's first negative result as a professional in MMA. Before that, the Nigerian boasted a streak of 20 wins.

Middleweight champion since 2019, there is still no prediction on when Israel will return to the Octagon. His last performance in the category took place in September 2020, when he beat Paulo borrachinha and defended his belt for the second time.
